Our Story...

We met in high school just a few short years ago… Well it was longer than that but who’s counting? When we were sixteen, we did go to a dance at the Balboa Pavilion and that evening was impactful if not magical. So much so, that it took us thirty years to reflect on its significance and go on a second date.

Our Story

Of course, by the time of our second date we both had lived a lifetime, or a big chunk of it, and when we reconnected we had a lot of catching up to do. It is an incredible thing to meet and be overwhelmingly excited about a person and yet have a past that resonates. And for the two of us, the past was not a body of shared experiences because it was just that one date on that one night, but what lingered were memories of being teenagers in Newport and walking onto wide sandy beaches and bodysurfing at 62nd Street or Schoolyards on a hot August day, then emerging from the surf wholly spent and chilled to languidly warm ourselves in the sand and contemplate another go out when we got just a little too hot.

But it wasn’t like going to the beach and swimming was all we did; there was more, like riding our bikes on the boardwalk on warm summer nights in shorts and a bikini top or t-shirt and watching the lights of the pier reflect across the water—a wild sense of beauty and possibility, for that night or forever, who was to know. And so for us to meet up again years later on a summer day and swim and to have not lost those memories but to find a shared wonder in each other was, well it was near perfect and not to be delayed any longer.

And the rest is history… and the present and future too.

We are overjoyed to be getting married and kicking off this party. So please join Camille, Charlie and Rémy in the celebration and

enjoy conversation, food and a little music.
